After being in Lighthouse I learned to put my life in GOD’s hands…

My addictive behaviors and wanting a reputation in “the streets” ultimately led me to Lighthouse.

Growing up in my neighborhood you saw money, reputation, and cars that I was drawn to at an early age. That’s what was so attractive to me, I had to have those things and tried to despite the consequences. That is what ultimately led me to Lighthouse was trying to live that lifestyle. The insanity of trying to successfully have the benefits of that lifestyle, continued to lead me into drugs & a life of crime. This selfish, not caring attitude took my kids away from me, made me hide who I had to be on the streets, and all my time from them. It took my piece of mind and years of my life away.

After being in the Lighthouse, I have learned to put my life in GOD’s hands and have found a freedom in being myself. I found friends in recovery I can enjoy because we have gone through the same life, just differently. Now in the Non-Residential phase, I have 3 of my sons living with me and one just left the nest. I am now making up for all the time I missed with them and truly building a relationship with my boys!
